What does the Prominence Score express?

The Prominence Score expresses where your brand sits inside an answer, not merely whether it appears. A mention in the opening sentence with an attributed link scores higher than one buried in a closing list. It is a positional and emphasis measure over collected answers, and it is directional, never a promise.

Two brands can both appear in the same answer and be read completely differently. One is the recommendation; the other is the "others include" clause at the end. A binary appeared-or-not reading cannot tell them apart.

So the score weighs position within the response and the emphasis the response gives the mention — whether it is attributed, whether it carries a link, whether it is the subject of the sentence or an aside.

It is computed from the answers we collected, in the same runs everything else on the surface is computed from, so a prominence movement and a citation movement always refer to the same sample.
